Brazilian sports channel Turner Esporte Interativo has deployed ATEMW Kyrion encoders and decoders to feed a new national video head-end in São Paulo.
eurosAs a first trial, Turner is using them to receive the UEFA Euro 2016 football tournament in 4K/Ultra UD from the International Broadcast Centre in France.
Based on the ATEME fifth-generation STREAM compression engine, the Kyrion encoder and decoder provides baseband video quality at minimum bitrates. This solution has been designed for contribution over satellite and IP networks.
“Our Kyrion solution is future-proof, with a HEVC software upgrade option and pay-as-you-grow support SD-to-HD to Ultra HD, and MPEG2-to-H.264 to HEVC,” said Gustavo Dutra, Brazil’s country manager for broadcast at ATEME.
