Maverick Television has appointed two senior development executives - Emily Mayer and Natalie Goldberg - in newly created roles within their UK and US teams.
maverickEmily Mayer has joined the company as SVP of development in the US, and will oversee all unscripted development for the company there. Mayer will report to Maverick TV USA president, Adam Greener.
Mayer joins from Fishbowl World Media, where she also served as SVP of development, selling and producing shows for Bravo, Oxygen, WE TV, TLC, HGTV, OWN and Animal Planet. Her background in the television industry also includes NBCUniversal’s Wilshire Studios, where, as VP of development, she sold and produced projects for more than a dozen networks including E!, Vh1, Sundance, Bio and Travel. Additionally, Mayer has held executive positions at Fox Television Studios, GRB Entertainment, Alchemy Television Group and 44 Blue Productions, following her start in United Talent Agency’s alternative department.
Natalie Goldberg has joined the UK office as the new head of development, and will report directly to Maverick TV CEO Simon Knight. Goldberg previously held the role of development executive at Betty TV, prior to which she spent a year working in New York as development creative and format creator at Jarrett Creative as well as other NYC-based production companies. Goldberg has experience in developing factual entertainment, documentaries and specialist factual programmes, having spent years working at some of the UK’s best known indies including Pioneer Productions, Nutopia, Impossible Pictures, Spun Gold TV and RDF. Goldberg also holds credits as a producer while working at Lion Television, Tiger Apsect Productions and Ricochet South.
“I’m delighted to bring two exceptionally creative and respected people to the team to help me shape and grow Maverick’s future,” Knight said. “Natalie and Emily will each be focused on their own territories but also tasked with creative collaboration in order to both inspire more innovative ideas but also to sell each others’ ideas. It’s a very exciting time for Maverick. ”
